Prince (Sheikh) Suleman Momoh Has Been Turbaned The Tittle Of The Takobi of Auchi Sacred Kingdom (Photos)


Prince (Sheikh) Suleman Momoh has been turbaned as the Takobi of Auchi Sacred Kingdom.

Prince Suleman Momoh, who was conferred with the customary and traditional title in 2020, was Officially turbaned by the Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom, His Royal Highness Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh.

A letter dated June 25, 2020, and signed by the Secretary Otaru-in-Council, Prince (Alh) H. M. Momoh, who also double as the Daudu of Oshomeke Village,  had said Prince Suleman Momoh was conferred with the title in appreciation of his contributions to the development of the kingdom.

Although the letter asked him to immediately assumed full responsibilities of the honorary title, he was formally turbaned on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

The kingdom had delayed the turbaning ceremony due to the ravaging coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

“I am directed to inform you that His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom has graciously bestowed on you the Auchi Customary Title TAKOBI OF AUCHI SACRED Kingdom in appreciation of your contribution to the development of the  Sacred Kingdom,” the conferment letter read.

“You are to assume full responsibilities of the honorary title of Auchi Sacred Kingdom forthwith. The celebration and any other traditional rites will come up In-Sha-Allah after the COVID-19 pandemic period.”


Prince Momoh, who hails from Etsako West Local Government Area in Edo State, is currently the Commissioner; Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services (PRSILS) at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Before his appointment as a NAHCON commissioner, he was a Senior Lecturer in Department of Marketing, School of Business Studies, Auchi Polytechnic, Edo state from 2006-2020.

Prince Momoh has held several leadership positions which includes but not limited to, Programme Coordinator, Department of Marketing, School of Evening Studies, Auchi Polytechnic (2016-2020), Chairman, Exams Misconduct Panel, School of Evening Studies, Auchi ( 2019-2020), Vice Chairman, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Edo State, Proprietor, Otaru Islamic center Auchi, Edo State, Imam II and Mai -Tafseer of Auchi Sacred Kingdom amongst others.

He is a son of the  royal family of Auchi Sacred Kingdom. He attended Uchi Primary School, Auchi, and also went to Comprehensive High School Auchi, for his Primary and Secondary Education.

He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marketing from Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State and a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc) in Economics from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma. He also obtained a Masters degree in Business Adminstration (MBA) from University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State in 2014 and a Masters of Science Degree (MSc) in Marketing from Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State in 2019. He is also well versed in Arabic and Islamic Studies.

He is a member of several professional bodies. He is a member, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (MNIMN), Associate Chartered Economist, Institute of Chartered Economist of Nigeria (ICEN), Fellow, Institute of Industrial Adminstration of Nigeria (FIIA) as well as Associate Fellow, Institute of Policy Management Development (IPMD).

Prince (Sheikh) Suleman Momoh is married with children.
