An alarming number of Nigerian children are regularly being killed and used for ritual purposes by persons who ought to protect them, in the society.  As of yesterday, a young girl Identified as mmesoma has been nabbed after she gave a baby bleach to drink.  The girl when interviewed, Disclosed she was promised the sum of N20k by one Chisom to carry out the act. According to her, Chisom promised to give her the money after the baby has been confirmed dead. Mmesoma revealed that after she gave the baby hypo to drink, she and the baby's mother rushed to get a substance which would neutralise the effect of the substance. She admitted to knowing the baby’s mother,  but denied doing same thing to other babies under her care in the past. Four Children were arrested in connection with a rampant child theft and robbery in  Asoko, Ebutubuwa community, Delta state. In a video that went viral on different social media platforms, Two of the boys who were between the ages of 7-10 got arrested alongside two other younger children for the crime of stealing in their neighborhood. While speaking with the police, one of the children explained that they learnt how to steal from an adult who also sometimes led them into proper armed robbery by showing them how to use live ammunitions. He also promised to take the police to the special ammunitions hideout by the gangs while also disclosing the identity of some of the thieves known during the burst out Watch Video Below:

  A middle-aged man was arrested by the men of the Nigerian army, in possession of dead child's corpse packed inside a traveling bag. in a video that went viral online, the man who had been stripped naked with his hands tired behind his back was reportedly arrested after a suspicious movement led to him being thoroughly searched Angry mobs at the scene of the event were looking to take laws into their own hand after trying to lynch the man but their attempts were repelled by the military men. Some men of the Anambra Police Command met with an untimely death earlier today, as unknown gunmen stormed Nkpologwu,Aguata and Omogho Orunmba North area of the state, to open fire on the policemen at different checkpoints, killing and destroying vehicles at the scene. The incident which appeared to have happened simultaneously saw the unknown gunmen attack the policemen on duty, leaving some dead while others barely escaped with thier lives. According to videos making rounds on social media from the scene of the incident, some police men where found lying in thier own pool of blood with their vehicles burnt beyond recognition. An eye witness at the Nkpologwu scene, explained that the unknown gunmen came in a jeep, parked and  opened fire at the policemen on duty, killing two of them on the spot,while about three policemen ran away.   A 30 year-old-man, Lanre Aremu, has been arrested by the Police in Kogi for allegedly raping a 96-year-old grandmother, Ige Samuel in Iyara, Ijumu Local Government Area of the state. Parading the suspect before newsmen at the state Police Command Headquarters on Wednesday in Lokoja, Mr Samuel Ojo, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of Criminal Investigation, said the act was an abomination, ungodly and inhuman. The daughter of the victim told newsmen that the incident happened when most of the residents were in Church. She said the suspect forcefully pushed her mother into the room and raped her, adding that she was alarmed when her mother suddenly started behaving funny and speaking incoherently after the incident. One of the sons of the old woman, who is in his 60s, said the incident happened because the woman’s nanny had travelled to Ekiti. An old self-proclaimed Prophetess who runs a ministry at Awka road, Onitsha Anambra State reportedly has been arrested for kidnapping children and pounding them for rituals. Livestock Guards in Benue State have arrested a farmer, Mr. Atsagba Ukua and his son for rustling six cows from herdsmen.   Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, retired Colonel Paul Hembah who disclosed this on Saturday, while briefing journalists, said the suspects were arrested on their way to the cattle market in North Bank, Makurdi to sell the rustled cows.     He explained that upon interrogation by Livestock Guards who were on routine patrol, the suspect said the cows destroyed his farm produce and out of anger, he took laws into his hands by impounding the animals in order to sell as compensation for his damaged farm produce.   According to the Security Adviser, the ranching law of the state forbids acts of self help, hence the need to hand over the suspects to the Police for prosecution while the rustled cows would be handed over to the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association for onward presentation to the owner. ...

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted an aide to a lawmaker representing Oru West Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Dominic Ezerioha. The victim, identified as Chetachi Linus Igboenyesi, popularly known as London Biggy, was reportedly kidnapped at about 11:35pm on Tuesday, January 26, while on his way to Uli community in Anambra State.  In a video taken from the kidnap scene, eyewitnesses said the gunmen shot and shattered the victim's car window and then whisked him away to an unknown destination. A 20-year-old lady, Fatima Usman has accused her father of having sexual intercourse with her in Owo, Ondo state. Fatima in a viral video gave the name of her father as Usman Momoh Sani, a worker in a tertiary institution in the state.   An okada rider identified as Happy murdered his girlfriend, one Orie everusi over alleged infidelity in Delta State. The incident happened in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State. Our source gathered that the deceased has been missing for 5 days and after the family noticed her disappearance, they suspected her boyfriend. It was learnt that the suspect tried to take his life with a sniper insecticide, but due to the timely intervention of people, he ended up drinking a small quantity which got him hospitalized. However, the suspect confessed to killing his girlfriend after regaining consciousness from the hospital and later took the police to the spot where he deposited her remains. The Kaduna State University, KASU, has terminated the appointment of Dr. Idowu Abbas of the Geography Department, over allegations of sexual harassment. Overt News reports that the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the school, Prof. Abdullahi Ashafa, announced this in a statement in Kaduna on Friday January 15. Ashafa also announced the promotion of 12 other lecturers of the school. According to Ashafa, the university’s Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), investigated the alleged sexual harassment against the lecturer and the report of the investigating committee was presented at the 217th Management Meeting of the institution on Jan. 12. The police in Plateau state have arrested a 55-year-old man, Abdulhamid Sale, for raping six teenagers in Bukuru community of Jos South local government area. Three teenage Fulani herders who allegedly gang-raped a minor in   Bauchi State   have been arrested by police officers in the state. It was gathered that the suspects, who range from age 13 to 15, committed the offence on Friday, January 8, 2021, in Dogon Awu village, Itas/Gadau Local Government Area of the state. The  police , while parading the teenagers before newsmen at the Command Headquarters on Wednesday, January 13, said that the trio was arrested following the report lodged by the victim’s parents. On Wednesday, a 45-year-old woman, Aminat Salami and her son, Abiodun Salami, 22, were arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating up a policeman. It was gathered that the defendants, who reside at Iju-Ishaga area of  Lagos state  are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault. The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Olasunkanmi Adejumola, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences on January 6, at their residence, adding that in collaboration with one other person still at large, they assaulted and willfully obstructed a policeman, Osadiaye Aifeshi, while on official duty. The prosecutor said the policeman went to the defendants’ house to arrest one Nurudeen Salami, for the perversion of justice by failing to produce a suspect he stood surety for at the station.
