Orlu Crisis: ITIC Chairman Orders Traditional Rulers To Wade Into The Situation{Video}

The chairman of Imo state traditional institution & culture,His Royal Majesty Eze Dr.Emma Okeke,Eze Udo 11, has ordered all traditional rulers within Orlu zone to look into the crisis that engulfed Orlu zone of late which led the Eastern Security Network(ESN) and men of the Nigerian army into confrontation with each other and this will help to avert any future reprisal attacks and restore tranquility to the communities.

The monarch who is also the traditional ruler of Amaifeke Ancient kingdom in Imo state, gave this order during the meeting he held with members of Orlu zone traditional rulers in a bid to find a lasting solution to the conflict.

He made this known during an interview with BBC news Igbo version which was monitored by Overtnews, that he has told the traditional rulers to go back to their different communities and find the root cause of the crisis that has lead to the military siege, reprisal attacks and that ultimately led to the imposition of curfew within Orlu zone by the governor

He also commended the curfew imposed by the governor as a welcome development,but voiced his displeasure at the maltreatment of the citizens by the military as observed that the military men are enforcing down to dusk curfew instead of 6pm to 6 am curfew that governor declared which according to him was a neglect to the orders of the governor.”Nobody sent them to come and maltreat and kill the people,the people you are killing and maltreating are they the cause of the problem”

“This crisis has really affected the economy of people of orlu zone,it has brought untold hardship to the people’

He further said the army has been withdrawn by government and peace is gradually returning to orlu.

On Eastern security network,he opined that they are the security outfit of indigenous people of Biafra,saddled with the responsibilities of providing internal security to entire southeast region but urged them to desist from calumny act of attacking federal security men,that they should not be violent.He said he is not condenming them, that they are like Amatokun of the yorubas and the likes in North and South south

He also condemned in totality the violent display by the network that has led to communities being on siege by military men, while urging them to shield their swords and Sue for peace for the sake of the people whom they’ve been called to serve.
