Again, Nigerian lawyer and #EndSARS promoter, Module Odele, has disclosed that the Nigerian Immigration Service came after her as she planned to travel out of Nigeria Wednesday. Ms Odele had provided legal support to those who were arrested while clamouring for an end to police brutality and bad governance. It would be recalled that at the beginning of November, the immigration prevented her from flying to the Maldives to celebrate her birthday. The immigration had denied preventing her from travelling but a foul play was suspected because it came at a time when bank accounts belonging to promoters of the movement were frozen. In what is suspected to be a renewed cult clash, unknown gunmen have killed a mechanic in the Oguola/Artillery Road area of Benin City, Edo State. The victim identified as Emmanuel Michael was said to be attending to one of his customers in his mechanic workshop located at Osasogie Street when the gunmen struck. The incident, according to inquiries it happened at about 6.20 p.m. on Wednesday. This is coming less than 24 hours after an unidentified furniture maker (carpenter) was killed by gunmen at his Aragua Street workshop, off Wire road in the Edo State capital. Our Source, learnt on Thursday from one of the vehicle owners, Freeborn Utake, who was around the workshop when the mechanic was killed, that the gunmen shot sporadically into the air before going straight to their target to kill him. Mr Utake said residents around the area attributed the action to be cult-related, adding that the gunmen continued shooting into the air as they escaped from the scene of the incident. He said,

The agency says the disease is spreading due to actual antibiotic overuse for those infected with the novel coronavirus. A little boy was knocked down and killed by an unidentified driver of a Toyota Sienna Space wagon car with registration number LSR 748 GN.   The fatal accident occurred when the child was crossing the road along Ihiala road opposite Starch mill Uli Ihiala at about 2.00pm on Tuesday, December 29.   The child was taken to God's Favour Specialist Hospital by FRSC rescue team from Ihiala command and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.  His body has been deposited at the mortuary.   Eyewitnesses attributed the crash to excessive speeding and loss of control. Some bandits who abducted a heavily pregnant woman and nine others have demanded a brand new Boxer motorcycle with a full tank of petrol as ransom to free the woman whom they claim has been delivered of a baby while in their custody. It would be recalled that the bandits had stormed Biyakikwana village in Katsina State last week, kidnapping 10 persons including the heavily pregnant woman. Bulama Bukarti, a lawyer and Daily Trust columnist, noted that a villager shared the development while speaking with BBC Hausa. It was gathered that the bandits called the family to inform them that she had given birth, adding that she and the infant will not be released until a ransom is paid.
