Kola Ogunkoya, a Nigerian artist based in the USA, has finally revealed why he has been away from Nigeria and Nigeria music for years. With popular hits such as 'Sweetie baby' in the early 2000's, many Nigerian music fans must have been wondering where Kola is and why he has been silent, as far as Nigerian music is concerned.

Well, Overt entertainment caught with the legendary Afro beat musician on WhatsApp and asked him why he has not been vocal in Nigeria for some years now.

"Nigerian entertainment industry is a fast growing industry, which is good. But it is just a tiny industry, full of fake people with no future to gain from" Kola replied on why he has been away.

On what he has been up to...

"I have a lot going on, including music re-arranged to suit my new audience in America, so that I can be on point" he affirmed.

Kola Ogunkoya, 53, was an household name in Nigeria music several years ago. The afro beat legend who calls his type of music Afro Gbedu, moved to the USA in the late nineties, after his brother was killed in front of a club.
