Don't just pray, demand for good governance - Aisha Yesufu

Popular activist and co-converner of BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, an advocacy group, Aisha Yesufu has called on Nigerians to embrace the habit of demanding good governance from its elected officers rather than focus solely on praying for the nation.

Aisha made this declaration via her Twitter page where she opined that if Nigerians channel the same level of energy used in praying for the nation into advocating for good governance, then the country would have experienced a great turn around.

On her Twitter page, she wrote: "You tell people to not make demands for good governance and just pray yet you ask people to give you money.

“Why don’t you pray and stay in your house, say nothing, do nothing, and wait for the money to drop on your laps? Just the way you expect good governance to drop on our laps,”

While also reacting to the recent death of All Progressive Congress(APC)chairman, In Nasarawa state, Philip Shekwo, Aisha opined that Nigeria is no longer safe for anyone due to the constant threat to lives and properties across the nation.

she said: "Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun, Oh No! When you tell me to be careful so I am not killed by this government, you seem not to realize no one is safe in this country.

“No place is safe and voice or no voice, we are all potential victims waiting to happen. Who’s next?”

Aisha Yesufu's profile as an activist has risen since her exploits during the EndSars protest staged nationwide against police brutality and inhuman treatments, and she has continued to make demands from the government
for a better Nigeria.
