Benin Jail Break: Escaped Prisoners Go On Stealing , Raping Rampage

A condemned inmate, Onorede Benjamin, who escaped from the Oko Correctional centre in Edo State has been arrested for snatching a car barely 30 minutes after escaping from custody. Benjamin and his fellow fugitives have allegedly stolen four cars since leaving the prison. The others are Adebayo Opeyemi (ex-soldier), Peter Osas, and Hudu Musa. The police said Benjamin was one of the inmates that fled after the Oko Custodial Centre was attacked on October 21 by hoodlums who exploited the #EndSARS protests. About 1,993 inmates were freed from the Benin and Oko custodial facilities, Edo State, during the attack on the correctional centres. Parading the suspects in Abuja on Monday, the  Force Public Relations Officer , DCP Frank Mba, revealed that the quartet returned to crime as soon as they escaped from lawful custody. Three Arrested for Using Sanitizer To Burn Journalist And His Friend To Death

The Police  in Uttar Pradesh Balrampur India, on Monday, 30 November, arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a local journalist and his friend. Those arrested have been identified as Akram Ali alias Abdul Qadir, Lalit Mishra and Keshvanand Mishra alias Rinku. Rakesh Singh, 45, who was working for a local newspaper, and his friend Mithlesh Sahu, 36, suffered serious burns in a fire at his house in Kalwari village, Balrampur. While Sahu died on the spot, Singh suffered 90 per cent burns and was referred to a Lucknow hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. The Balrampur police had constituted four teams to solve the murder mystery. Three Killed, 4 Buildings Burnt As Renewed Cult Clash Rocks Ughelli

One person has been confirmed dead with at least four buildings razed down in a renewed cult clash in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North local government area of Delta State. The incident which happened on Sunday, involved members of the Aye and Mafia confraternities, with residents accusing the police and the leadership of the council of doing little or nothing towards bringing sanity to the town. Also, two other persons were reportedly killed in two separate incidents between the warring cult groups on Sunday night and Monday morning at Oghenevweta and Oseri street areas of Ekuigbo community. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the Presidency over remarks by President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide,   Garba Shehu   on Boko Haram killing of rice farmers in Borno State and accused the Presidency of trying to rationalize the gruesome killing of 43 innocent Nigerians by terrorists in their farms. Edo Teachers Issue 7-day Ultimatum Over Demotion of Headteacher

Teachers in Esan North-East Local Government Area have issued a 7-day ultimatum to the Acting Education Secretary, local government education authority, Oseghale Mary to reverse the deployment and subsequent demotion of one Ikiakhele Agatha, the head teacher of Efandion primary school in the locality. The teacher said they will not fail to embark on strike if the Acting Education Secretary failed to reverse the deployment and demotion of the head teacher. This was contained in a petition signed by Oriere Duba, NUT chairman of the local government, secretary, Eyonse Martins, and two others and addressed to the state executive of the union and the state chairman of Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Benin City. According to the petition, “if this decision is not reversed in the next seven days, we shall have no choice than to shut down education activities in the local government area.”

7 Members Of Eiye Cult Gang Arrested By Lagos Police

  Rabsreporters  reports that Lagos Police Command has arrested seven (7) suspected members of a cult gang, Eiye Confraternity, operating at Agura, Ikorodu area of the state. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement in Lagos on Sunday that the suspects were arrested after they attacked some members of a vigilance group in the area called “Agbekoya.” Adejobi named the suspects as Abolaji Adebayo, 21; Josiah Offem, 37; Oluwapelumi Oyeyinka, 25; Lamidi Taofeeq, 41; Ahmed Shittu, 48; Rabiu Ganiyu, 25; and Zainab Nurudeen, 20, the only female among them. Others who were in possession of their dangerous weapons fled the scene on sighting the police,” the police spokesperson said. Police arrest kidnapper after he mistakenly boarded a commercial vehicle of his victim

Police operatives in Sokoto state have arrested a member of a kidnap gang, who mistakenly boarded a commercial vehicle of one of his victims. The driver, whose name was not disclosed was kidnapped about two months ago along Kankara in Katsina state while returning from Kano. According to Daily Trust, the driver, who spent three weeks in captivity was released after paying an undisclosed amount of money as ransom. Fortunately for the driver, a member of the gang that kidnapped him boarded his Kano bound vehicle from the Kwannawa motor park in Dange-Shuni local government area of Sokoto on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Twenty-three-year-old Olalekan Faleye, a survivor of the shooting that attended the peaceful #ENDSARS protest at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, says he has become an amputee after the gunshot injuries he sustained to the leg on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
