Th e chairman of Imo state traditional institution & culture,His Royal Majesty Eze Dr.Emma Okeke,Eze Udo 11, has ordered all traditional rulers within Orlu zone to look into the crisis that engulfed Orlu zone of late which led the Eastern Security Network(ESN) and men of the Nigerian army into confrontation with each other and this will help to avert any future reprisal attacks and restore tranquility to the communities. The monarch who is also the traditional ruler of Amaifeke Ancient kingdom in Imo state, gave this order during the meeting he held with members of Orlu zone traditional rulers in a bid to find a lasting solution to the conflict. He made this known during an interview with BBC news Igbo version which was monitored by Overtnews, that he has told the traditional rulers to go back to their different communities and find the root cause of the crisis that has lead to the military siege, reprisal attacks and that ultimately led to the imposition of curfew within Orlu zone...

Livestock Guards in Benue State have arrested a farmer, Mr. Atsagba Ukua and his son for rustling six cows from herdsmen.   Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, retired Colonel Paul Hembah who disclosed this on Saturday, while briefing journalists, said the suspects were arrested on their way to the cattle market in North Bank, Makurdi to sell the rustled cows.     He explained that upon interrogation by Livestock Guards who were on routine patrol, the suspect said the cows destroyed his farm produce and out of anger, he took laws into his hands by impounding the animals in order to sell as compensation for his damaged farm produce.   According to the Security Adviser, the ranching law of the state forbids acts of self help, hence the need to hand over the suspects to the Police for prosecution while the rustled cows would be handed over to the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association for onward presentation to the owner. ...

A man named Braxton Walker took to Facebook to reveal what his work place did when he informed them that he's a cross-dresser.   To allow him gain access into the building no matter how he's dressed, he was given two ID badges, one with his face while he's dressed in female clothes and a wig and another with him dressed as a man.   He shared both badges to Facebook and his post quickly went viral with people praising his work place for inclusivity. He later returned to Facebook to write: "Lol. I woke up and my face was all over the Internet."   He attributed the reaction he got from his workplace to equality, writing: "And that's on equality."  

A popular male and female preacher, who reportedly went separately to share the word of God at the Ikeja bus stop in Lagos state Nigeria, threw caution to the wind as they fought for a preaching spot in the area. In a video that has since gone viral on the social media, the man was firing hot ”prayers” against the female preacher while the female preacher was seen charging at the male preacher and hurling abuses on him. A Nigerian lady took to Twitter to narrate how she was physically assaulted by her boss while accusing him of exploiting her.  The lady with the username @Onyinye, said she worked as a digital marketer, content creator, social media handler and a graphics designer.  She also claimed that she was also a food buyer, office cleaner and a plate washer which was not part of her job description. Narrating how the altercation started, Onyinye said her boss got in to his office by 3pm and went straight in to his office because he had visitors.  She claimed she usually asked him if he wanted her to order food for him but failed to asked him because she assumed that he eat from where he was coming from.  Later around 4pm, Onyinye claimed her boss asked her to go and buy food for him and she agreed, even though it was already time for her to go back home.  According to her, she went to buy the food but on getting there, she forgot that she didn’t ask her boss for his card ...

A legal practitioner, and Orlu community resident, Barrister Kingsley Ogbonna has cried out against what he describes as “unconstitutional and inhuman” treatment of residents of Orlu community by the military men saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring compliance to the state’s curfew order. Kingsley Ogbonna while narrating the situation of things in Orlu, said that the military men no longer follow the 6am-6pm curfew as illustrated by the state government, but have instead made the curfew a 24hour thing, restricting movements and denying residence access to essential needs in the process. A 65 years old hunter, know as, UNweke, has allegedly killed himself, his wife, and their son in the Amunike community of Anambra state on Thursday January 28.   A statement by the spokesperson of the state police command, Mohammed Haruna, says the police received a report from the chairman of the vigilante group in Amunike community in Awka North LGA of Anambra State that at about 3am today, the hunter allegedly shot his 55 years old wife Patricia Nweke with a single barrel gun and also burnt his house along with his 29 years old son named Obinna Nweke in circumstances yet to be ascertained. Haruna added that the hunter equally shot himself using the same gun.   The police spokesperson said police detectives attached to Achalla police station visited the scene and rushed the victims to Uche hospital Isuanocha where they were confirmed dead on arrival.  See Photos below:  

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted an aide to a lawmaker representing Oru West Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Dominic Ezerioha. The victim, identified as Chetachi Linus Igboenyesi, popularly known as London Biggy, was reportedly kidnapped at about 11:35pm on Tuesday, January 26, while on his way to Uli community in Anambra State.  In a video taken from the kidnap scene, eyewitnesses said the gunmen shot and shattered the victim's car window and then whisked him away to an unknown destination. Igboenyesi was said to be driving a white Mercedes ML 350 4Matic with plate number IMHA – 48, when the incident happened.   A senior police officer, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident to The Nation, saying that the police had put machinery in motion to rescue the victim.    Watch the video below... https://youtu.be/sFibfBhX69Q

A 20-year-old lady, Fatima Usman has accused her father of having sexual intercourse with her in Owo, Ondo state. Fatima in a viral video gave the name of her father as Usman Momoh Sani, a worker in a tertiary institution in the state. In the two minutes 10 seconds viral video, Fatima alleged that her father had been sleeping with her for long. “Whenever I refused to have sex with my father he would send her out of the house in the midnight. “My father has been sleeping with me for a very long, and whenever I refused he would send me out of the room. “If I say I will voice out, he would be threatening to kill me. “He would bring out a knife and show me that if I tell anybody he would kill me.” “My mother did not bother to check on me whether I slept in the room or not. “Anytime my father sent me out, and I slept outside, my mother would have slept off, she did not know what was happening.” Fatima called on the government to help her get justice.
